At Bonita Boat Rentals, we make rod rentals available to our boat renters for just $15 with a fully stocked tackle box. If you’re looking for bait, boat renters can purchase frozen bait shrimp for $5 per 8 oz. bag.
Not sure what you’ll need? We’re happy to help. We recommend using light tackle and bait shrimp when fishing out on the bay.
Fishing in Bonita Springs – Here’s What You Need to Know
Our convenient location allows our renters quick and easy access to some of the best fishing spots in southwest Florida. Estero Bay is only minutes away. Big Hickory Bay, the Imperial River and Fish Trap Bay are also very close.
Spanning 15 square miles, Estero Bay is an inshore angler’s paradise. The bay encompasses parts of Bonita Springs, Fort Myers, Estero and Naples, and is a fishing hotspot in southwest Florida. Estero Bay is home to some of Florida’s most popular game fish, including: spotted seatrout, snook, redfish, tarpon, mangrove snapper, sheepshead, jack crevalle, and more. With oyster bars, grass flats, mangrove shorelines, passes and edges, our local waters offer a lot of fishing options. The bay’s waters are very shallow in most areas, so be careful when boating out of the marked channels. Ask about the local tides before going out on the boat.
Bonita Boat Rentals has the perfect boat and fishing gear to make your next fishing trip on the bay a successful one.
Before you go, here are a few things you should know:
- In most cases, a Florida saltwater fishing license will be required to fish in Estero Bay.
- To rent a boat with us, you need to be at least 21 years old. If you were born on or after January 1, 1988, you must have with you a State Boating Safety Identification Card and a picture ID.
- Fishing changes depending on the time of year, so check with us to find out which fish are biting and where to find them in Estero Bay.
